On Sept. 25, 2015, Life Care’s facilities in Northeast Florida sponsored the Fifth Annual Remission Rocks concert at River City Brewing Company in Jacksonville.
The event is a growing fundraiser for Bosom Buddies, a local organization that provides services to women in the region who are dealing with breast cancer.
Associates from Life Care Center of Hilliard, Life Care Center of Jacksonville, Life Care Center of Orange Park and Life Care Center at Wells Crossing attended and contributed to the fundraising efforts.
Hundreds of people showed up this year decked out in pink to support the cause, enjoy appetizers, bid at the silent auction and enjoy live music by Xpress Sound, Dance Express and No Known Cure.
“Everyone was pinked out with pink hair, clothing, tutus and tattoos,” said Sara Dewitt, area director of sales and business development in Life Care’s Palmetto Region. “The founder of the organization we help played the bass at 79 years old, and it was breathtaking!”
That founder, Bobbi De Cordova Hanks, said, “Without Remission Rocks, Bosom Buddies would never survive. It’s an event our women’s center looks forward to every year.”
This year’s Remission Rocks raised $28,000 for Bosom Buddies.
