The award was given during Life Care’s annual Directors of Nursing Meeting held at the company’s headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee. It is given to the director of nursing in each of Life Care’s divisions who best demonstrates outstanding qualities in several areas, including customer service ratings, staff development and successful state surveys.
Starting as a registered nurse on the acute rehab unit, Reddish proved not only to provide excellent clinical care but natural leadership abilities. She has been director of nursing since 2015 and upon her promotion, worked to create a team of knowledgeable, dependable and experienced nurse managers. The nursing leaders then took on more mentorship of the certified nursing assistants, providing quality through servant leadership.
The results have included a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, as well as back-to-back deficiency-free state surveys in 2016 and 2017.
The level of care even made an impression on visiting residents who had to evacuate another skilled nursing facility during Hurricane Matthew in 2016.
“Loren has been a great asset to Life Care Center of Hilliard for more than nine years,” said Anthony Rimmer, executive director. “Her extensive knowledge of nursing practices and her genuine love and compassion for others have made a lasting impact on this facility and the community it serves.”
“Loren is a living example of what the honorable nursing profession is all about,” said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president. “She administers her God-given talents in a spirit of love and compassion to help make the lives of others better. We’re proud of her and all of our nursing award winners.”
Life Care honored seven other division winners and a Company-wide Director of Nursing of the Year, as well as a customer service winner.
